The Moderate Party of America is not a centrist party. We do not take the Democratic position, take the Republican position, and simply split the difference.

Being a Moderate is not synonymous with being neutral. It is the ability to choose the best ideas, regardless of which side they come from.

Sometimes common sense leads left. Sometimes it leads right. Sometimes both sides are wrong.

We follow the Constitution, evidence, individual liberty, equal justice, fiscal responsibility, personal responsibility, and what actually works.

Our mission is to build a durable civic home for Americans who want constitutional government, honest public service, practical problem-solving, political competition, and equal treatment under the law.

We believe government should be limited but effective, transparent in its decisions, accountable for its results, and careful with powers borrowed from the people.

Our Public Trust

Government authority is borrowed from the people. Those exercising it assume heightened duties of:

  • Truth
  • Transparency
  • Competence
  • Stewardship
  • Accountability

The greater the power, the greater the responsibility.

How We Evaluate Policy

Before supporting significant government power, MPA asks:

  • Is it constitutional and actually necessary?
  • What evidence supports it, and will it work?
  • What will it cost and what rights will it restrict?
  • Is there a less restrictive solution?
  • Will it apply equally, and how will success be measured?

Government should act when action is justified, constitutional, effective, and necessary, not merely because “something must be done.”
