The Moderate Party of America (MPA), founded by Mitchell Estrada, a Nebraska native, is grounded in the principles of social classical liberalism and economic conservatism.
MPA is neither bound to the left nor the right, and unlike centrist or non-partisan groups, instead forms a unique third dimension in the American political landscape. This “third point” approach offers a fresh, balanced perspective, bridging polarized viewpoints without compromising on core values.
MPA firmly rejects extremist positions and actions. MPA champions for constructive dialogue and practical solutions. Our commitment to non-violence is unwavering, with the few exceptions.
As a new party, we bring no baggage of historical biases, allegiances, or the chains of past mistakes that have hindered progress. This allows us to offer innovative ideas, uphold integrity, and set a new standard in American politics.
The Moderate Party of America is a new political party currently being built, updated, and developed from the ground up, and our platform will continue to grow and evolve as we establish the organization. Policies and solutions will be continuously reviewed, refined, and expanded as new issues arise; always guided by our core principles, evidence, and common sense.
Liberty
The Moderate Party of America rejects racism, sexism, prejudice based on sexual orientation, and or immutable characteristics. People from all walks of life are welcome here. We believe every person possesses inherent dignity and deserves equal protection under the law. Should we judge, we judge people by their character, conduct, choices, and beliefs, while remaining free to question and debate ideas.
Racism, sexism, and ideologies that regard one group of people as inherently superior or inferior to another are indefensible by reason, and fundamentally incompatible with MPA. Extremist beliefs cannot be reconciled with a movement founded upon individual liberty, equal justice, personal responsibility, reason, and respect for others.
At the same time, respecting another person's rights does not require abandoning our own beliefs. Americans will disagree about religion, morality, culture, lifestyles, and personal behavior. A person's faith may lead them to believe that certain choices or behaviors are morally wrong. Holding that belief does not mean they must hate, mistreat, or discriminate against the people with whom they disagree, or vice versa.
We also recognize an important distinction between personal conviction and public policy. Faith and moral principles can shape our character and our understanding of right and wrong, but our personal religious beliefs do not automatically dictate how or what policy we support.
Not every spiritual belief one may believe as morally wrong must therefore be illegal. Not every religious conviction should become government policy.
MPA policies must also withstand examination under the Constitution, individual liberty, equal protection, evidence, reason, practical consequences, and the rights of others. We can remain faithful to our own convictions while recognizing that Americans of different religions, and Americans with no religious faith at all, possess the same freedoms we expect for ourselves.
That principle works both ways. Government should neither impose religion upon the people nor require people to abandon their religious convictions to participate fully in American life. Freedom of religion necessarily includes freedom of conscience.
Our Christian tradition provides powerful reasons to reject racism, hatred, cruelty, and the dehumanization of others, but a person does not have to be Christian to reach those conclusions.
MPA therefore welcomes Americans from every race, background, faith, and walk of life who share these basic principles, western values, and are willing to extend the same liberty and dignity to others that they expect for themselves. We likewise welcome those who come to this country legally, embrace America's constitutional principles, contribute to their communities, and sincerely wish to become Americans and help build a stronger America.
There is room here for different faiths. There is room for different lives. There is room for disagreement, including strong disagreement. There is no room for racism, sexism, prejudice, dehumanization, or political extremism.
We do not have to believe all the same things, worship the same way, live the same way, or agree on every issue to stand together as Americans.
That is moderation: holding firmly to our convictions while respecting the freedom of others to hold theirs.
